Operation Hope for the Border

“Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shall call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.” Isaiah 60:18

Stats on Border Violence

  • Last year, 6,000 people died in drug related violence in Mexico.
  • This year, more than 1,000 people have been killed-primarily police, soldiers and traffickers.
  • In Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, as many as 2,000 people have been killed in the past year.
  • Since January 2010, the DPS has identified 22 murders, 24 assaults, 15 shootings, and 5 kidnappings.

DPS official Col. Steven McGraw states that organized crime does not show up on a “uniform crime report.” It doesn’t account for the recruitment of our children in high school to conduct operations to support cartel members, to conduct murders and assassinations on both sides of the border.
